hurray! i packed the first box this week...well, actually it was a tote. and here is cali being a goof.
jevon picked our route (thanks God for mapquest). and we made travel plans.
so wow, this is for real, isn't it? we really are going to do this.
thanks mr. dorwin for offering your trailor, and thanks mr. sabelco (and abby!) for offering to drive with us and pull the trailor.
the official plan is to leave on the 8th of august (saturday) and arrive on the 9th. yeah, we are slow. its only a ten and a half hour drive, but we decided to go easy on the kids (and mama) for the first trek there anyways.
jevon has been researching for a couple of weeks now, and today we took the plunge and bought computers, flashdrives, printer, and all that good stuff which will be necessary for school. so tonight we are getting those set up. actually i'm typing this blog on the new netbook (mini laptop)...our secondary computer.
for those of you who were praying for us and the girls regarding the childcare situation...you should know that God answers prayer and works everything out in His own way and time. the school sent out a notice that the nursuries are too full, and asked for 12 mommies to volunteer to opt out of the nursury program and stay with their own babies, listening to classes with projectors and live streaming audio instead. we quickly volunteered, joyfully, as we felt it was better for cali not to be in a busy nursury full time, anyways. some of the classes require moms to be present because they are more interactive, but perhaps something can be worked out with someone to watch the girls just for those specific classtimes. we will see. God will work out the details. i am confident that i will not be missing out on anything God has for me while taking care of the little ones that He himself has give me to take care of.
and one final bit of news: my family will be here to help us pack and leave! mom, dad, amos, isaac, and sam will be getting here sometime the week of the 26th. unfortunately, dad will have to fly back on saturday, august 1. this means that he will be missing sunday at salem...SO, for all of you salemites who want to see him, you are all invited to a campfire at our house, friday night, july 31. it will be fun to spend some time with you before we take off. my mom and brothers will be here until we leave on august 8; they are driving with us to missouri just for fun, to see where we will be.
well bye for now; we love you all and are so thankful for your friendship.
